Booking Terms

TERMS OF PAYMENT

A 50% deposit is required to confirm a booking, with the remaining amount due no later than 60 days prior arrival. Failure to adhere to the payment policy may result in the cancellation of your booking.

Rates are shown in USD$ and includes 12%VAT & 10%INGUAT. These are held to the company’s exchange rate to local currency (Quetzales).

Payment may be done by:

•Credit Card (A non-refundable credit card surcharge of 4% on all American Express, MasterCard and Visa Transactions)

•Bank Transfer ($40.00 is added to bill to cover bank fees)


CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to the extensive organization involved with touring, a strict cancellation fee will be applicable to compensate for costs and lost revenue do to hotel and transportation bookings. Once a booking is made the following cancellation fees will apply:

•Cancellations made 90 days or more prior to arrival are entitled to an 80% refund.

•Cancellations 30 to 60 days prior to arrival are entitled to a partial refund depending on deposits made to our provider’s for bookings.

•Cancellations 30 days or fewer prior to arrival are non-refundable, non-transferable, and have no credit value.

Prices on unconfirmed reservations are subject to change at any time without notice. We recommend that you ensure against unforeseen circumstances that could necessitate partial or full cancellation of your reservation.

*Cancellations must be communicated in writing by email and by the same person who made the reservation.


CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL

Maya Trails reserves the right to arrange alternative route due to severe weather condition or in the event of any protest in the road. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.


PASSENGER NUMBERS

Quotes for groups are done based on certain amount of passenger number. If the quote is confirmed with a different amount of passengers, the price will vary.


TRAVEL INSURANCE

Personal Travel Insurance is NOT included in the Maya Trails tours and requires all passengers to plan ahead in this matter.


LUGGAGE

Luggage must be kept to a maximum of two large suitcases and a small cary-on per person. If a luggage does not arrive to Guatemala with the group, Maya Trails operation can monitor it for you. Maya Trails can pick it up at the airport with a photocopy of the passenger passport, original airline slip, and send to your location in Guatemala with an additional fee. Maya Trails is not responsible for any lost or broken items that may have been damaged on the flight.
